A standby generator is designed to automatically provide backup power to a home or building in the event of a power outage. Unlike portable generators, which require manual startup and connection to the facilities’ electrical system, standby generators are permanently installed and connected to the facilities’, typically by licensed StarCraft Technologies Ltd electricians.
Standby generators are powered by a fuel source such as natural gas, propane, or diesel, and can produce enough electricity to power critical appliances and systems in the facility such as lighting, refrigerators, heating and cooling systems, and medical equipment. When a power outage occurs, the standby generator senses the interruption and automatically switches on, providing uninterrupted power until utility power is restored.
Standby generators are commonly used in areas where power outages are frequent or prolonged, or where loss of power can have serious consequences, such as hospitals, data centers, and other critical infrastructure. They are also increasingly popular among facility management who want to ensure that their facilities remain powered during an outage.
